  1. Rashad Mahmood

Hello my name is Rashad and I’m going to major in Organizational Administration. I am interested in classes that teach me the basic principles of running a business. Out of school I enjoy listening to music, working out, hanging out with friends, etc. I am taking this class primarily to fulfill credit requirements, but the title of the class also sounded interesting to me.

Hi! I’m Leslie, my major is global affairs with a concentration in global inequalities and responses. My interests is listening to music, hiking, and jogging. I am a senior at GMU so I am really really excited! ( I can’t wait to graduate!). 3. Yuzhen Tang

Hi, everyone! My name is Yuzhen Tang. I am an international student from China. This is my second year in Mason and also in America. My major is Global Affairs. My academic interests are history, language and culture. My non academic interests are reading, watching tv, and I’m in Habitat for Humanity. I hope to learn more about other cultures that I can apply to my major and to my career later in life.

  5. Melanie Villaflor

Hi! I’m Melanie and like most of you, I am a Global Affairs major. I am a senior and I am taking this class to fulfill my degree requirement but I am also interested in studying how interconnected our world truly is. My parent’s are both originally from the Philippines, making me a first generation American born citizen (I think that’s how that works). After traveling and visiting family on the other side of the world in a developing country, it is very different and eye opening to compare lifestyles. It is also really heart wrenching to witness the harsh juxtaposition between the rich and the poor in a developing country like the Philippines. In my spare time I like to eat… a lot… and sleep and also hang out with my friends. After graduation I hope to continue working for Operation Blessing, a non-profit organization headquartered in Virginia Beach, and I hope to save enough money to travel the world.

  11. Kyle Chung

Hello everyone! :) My name is Kyle Chung and I’m currently a junior majoring in Global Affairs, while double minoring in French and Japanese language. I’ve always been interested in the relationship between my home country, Korea with Japan: since recently, their relationship has been more founded on their pasts rather than current affairs (such as the comfort women and ownership of land). Currently, I have interests in art, foreign music, and speaking foreign languages (as of now, I speak Korean, French, Japanese, and English). In the long run, I hope to understand more about the items that bridge this world together and possibly use that knowledge to find ways to bridge divergent countries together such as Korea and Japan. I’m really excited to see what I can take from this class!
